Highlights

Beaches, supercars, super yachts, famous casinos, and quaint seaside towns will have you feeling like a high roller in this world famous beach destination! Monte Carlo, Nice, Cannes, Eze, Antibes are just a few of the legendary hot spots that the French Riviera has to offer in this land of the rich and famous!  And during this trip you will be there for the intnerional Cannes Film Festival as well as the lead up to the Monaco Grand Prix Formula 1 race weekend!

Itinerary

NOTE - This trip is inclusive as far as what is listed on the day to day including all transportation from the start to end of tour (Florence to Nice and day trips) and all listed tours, guides, and any included and listed meals.  You are only responsible for your own personal expenses and any add on nights after the trip.

May 19th, Sunday - Day 1

Departure from Florence at approx. noon to drive to Nice by private bus (travel time approx. 5 hours).  We’ll drive along the scenic Ligurian coastline of Italy, passing noteworthy cities like Santa Margherita, Genova & San Remo before crossing the border into France.  Before arriving to Nice, we’ll drive along the famous “Gran Corniche” road and stop at the cliffside village of Eze perched more than 1400 ft above the Mediterranean Sea.  During our visit we’ll also have a tour of the world famous Fragonard cosmetics laboratory & factory (duration approx. 30 min). Following our visit to Eze and Fragonard, we’ll drive the remaining 30 minutes along the Corniche road and have some more spectacular views before arriving into Nice.  Early evening arrival to Nice, check in to hotel.  Free evening. 

May 20th - Monday - Day 2

Visit & Tour of Antibes, with Provencal Tasting Lunch - A day for “foodies” in the incredibly charming seaside town of Antibes.  Following breakfast at our hotel in Nice we’ll head to Antibes and wander the city’s old streets, learning about its history and highlights from the guide.  Following the tour (and perhaps during for a quick break), we’ll stop a several venues starting with a wine bar, and then through the farmer’s market to the famous Absinthe bar and then onto two local restaurants to try the most traditional dishes.  The tour of Antibes and tasting for lunch (which will be more than enough food, will take approx. 4 hours.  Following a post lunch break for a bit of free time “wandering” we’ll hop on the train for the quick 10 minute journey to Cannes. 

Cannes Visit & Cannes Film Festival - After arriving in this glitzy beach town, we’ll head straight to the red carpet at the Palais des Festival where the international film festival will be taking place.  During the afternoon you’ll see the hotels along the famous Croisette promenade all dressed up with each promoting a certain film or movie studio for that year’s festival, and maybe even catch a glimpse of some stars in Cannes for their film premier or party!  Beyond the film festival, Cannes is an incredibly beautiful town with a small, but charming, old town, a golden sandy beach (a highlight of the city) and of course great shopping and dining.  You’ll be provided with a return train ticket and can stay in Cannes as long as you like and come back to Nice whenever you want that evening (train is about a 40 min ride).  Free evening. 

May 21st - Tuesday - Day 3

Monaco-Monte Carlo Visit & Tour - Morning departure for the Principality of Monaco and the famous city of Monte Carlo! We’ll have an in depth walking tour of this glamorous seaside city seeing highlights like the royal palace, national cathedral (where Princess Grace’s tomb is), the port of Monaco lined with its amazing collection of yachts, and the famous Casino de Monte Carlo (you’ll have the opportunity to try your luck at the casino!). Trip ends mid-afternoon. You’ll have the option to stop at the beautiful beachside village of Villefranche sur Mer on the way back to Nice.  Free evening. 

May 22nd - Wednesday - Day 4

Nice Old Town Tour - Morning departure for the guided walking tour of Nice's beautiful old town. See why this city is referred to as "Nissa La Bella". We'll start at Place Massena and venture into the charming streets of old town and its pastel colored buildings, boutiques & small shops and fragrant fromageries, boulangeries and various eateries. Along the way you'll see highlights including the Opera House of Nice, Palais de Justice, Place Rossetti, Castle Hill, Cours Saleya and the flower market and more, along with some great tips for the best food and drink in Nice!  

Afternoon Scenic Boat Cruise from Nice - We’ll depart from the port of of Nice for a 1 hour coastal cruise taking us  along Cap de Nice to the Promenade des Anglais passing through the famed Villefranche bay, and taking in the beautiful coastline and magnificent villas along the way.

Free evening.

May 23rd - Thursday - Day 5

Check out of hotel  and departure on your own.
